I was always passionate about what South Africa could produce. But I kept running into the same problem — the technology available to us was either overpriced, fragile, or designed for someone else's life entirely. Premium smartwatches built for glass offices and gentle commutes. Not for us.

The Name, AEGA
The name carries two meanings — both intentional.
Aega is the Estonian word for "time." For a smartwatch brand, it fits. But it's the deeper meaning behind it that inspired us more. The Estonian people — ancient, resilient, repeatedly tested — held onto their identity and culture through centuries of hardship. They didn't bend. They endured.
